Quality Control Lead

Job Description Our client is a leading manufacturer of composite utility poles and infrastructure solutions serving the utility and energy markets. They are looking for a Manufacturing Quality Shift Lead to oversee quality assurance, lead the QA team, and keep production on spec during night shift at their manufacturing facility in Humble, TX. - Lead, train, and mentor QA inspectors and quality lab technicians on the night shift
- Assist the Quality Manager with scheduling quality personnel
- Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process
- Perform in-process, final product, and shipping inspections and audits
- Perform incoming inspection and testing of raw materials
- Test finished resin batches against company specifications
- Work with Production to resolve quality issues quickly
- Escalate critical quality concerns and discrepancies to the Quality Manager
- Maintain electronic and hard-copy records of inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports
- Prepare and submit quality reports
- Assist with developing and revising work instructions and SOPs
- Participate in internal and external audits and support corrective actions
- Serve as backup for QA inspector, lab technician, and resin blender roles
- Identify process improvement opportunities with cross-functional teams
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education preferred
- 3+ years in a quality role in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including weekends as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift in an industrial environment with chemicals and moving equipment
