This role is focused on the design of mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial building projects. The engineer will work closely with project managers from the early design phase through construction, handling calculations, equipment selection, drawings, and client coordination while helping deliver projects on schedule.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for a variety of building projects.
• Prepare load calculations, duct sizing, equipment selection, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Develop construction drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Review designs and provide technical input throughout the project.
• Coordinate with architects, owners, contractors, and other design team members.
• Respond to RFIs and provide construction administration support during the construction phase.
• Perform site visits to evaluate existing conditions and support project needs.
• Troubleshoot design and field issues and recommend practical solutions.
• Help ensure projects stay on schedule and meet technical requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers by providing technical guidance and support.
• Participate in internal technical discussions and help maintain design standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience designing mechanical systems, with experience in plumbing and fire protection.
• Strong knowledge of building mechanical systems, energy analysis, load calculations, and equipment selection.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Working knowledge of NFPA, ASHRAE, ASPE, and applicable building codes.
• PE license is strongly preferred.
• LEED accreditation is a plus.
• Ability to travel locally for project site visits as needed.
