Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center is looking for a fun and creative Activities Director to join our team! This is a department head role reporting directly to the Administrator and is responsible for the overall operations of the recreation department. Worcester Rehab is a 146-bed skilled nursing facility with a large SUDS population. Salaried position with weekly pay ranging from $32 to $35 an hour. Education & Experience: Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. Have at least one (1) year experience or training in directing group activity. Experience in a supervisory capacity in a healthcare setting is preferred. Duties & Responsibilities: Oversees the activities department, including scheduling events and activities that interest and engage residents. Manage the hiring, onboarding, training, and daily tasks of the activities assistants. Order supplies. Connect with residents to generate programming ideas that tailor to their interests. Work with vendors, including performers, to schedule visits to the facility. Encourage residents to take part in activities that stimulate his/her potential, physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Assist with and follow through on the establishment of resident care goals within the framework of the entire therapeutic team. Other duties as assigned by the administrator and regional support team. Specific Requirements: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel.
