Benefits Starting Pay: $38.00 - $44.00 per hour (with higher pay based on experience) Eligible for time and a half overtime HealthCare: Stimson covers over 80% of premiums for medical, dental, and vision for full‑time employees 401(k): 100% match on the first 6% of contributions Profit Sharing: Annual contributions to 401(k) up to 3% of pay Bonus: Discretionary bonus when company and location are profitable Paid Time Off: 9 holidays + 2 weeks vacation + up to 3 days sick leave per year Employee Referral: Earn $2,500–$5,000 for successful referrals Wellness program with reward incentives; tuition reimbursement; apprenticeships; career development; access to company land for recreation Responsibilities and Duties Continuously evaluate and analyze quality, safety and production processes and procedures Provide daily shift maintenance and troubleshooting for machine centers and equipment, including maintenance reporting and documentation Implement preventative maintenance and troubleshooting programs for machinery and equipment Provide thorough maintenance reporting, documentation, inventory of parts and closing records Proactively communicate with all departments to ensure proper operation and maintenance of systems and equipment Serve as a partner to machine operators to help improve machine efficiency Model, implement and comply with all company work and safety rules and related industry regulations Regularly educate the maintenance and operations organizations on maintenance and safety programs as they evolve Identify and suggest new approaches or best known methods to foster our continuous improvement mentality Evaluate and test equipment efficiency and effectiveness and recommend changes for improvement Maintain, install, repair, improve and troubleshoot all systems, equipment and machinery in the mill Qualifications Minimum of 5 years industrial equipment maintenance experience; sawmill operations preferred Proficient with mechanical systems and components commonly found in sawmills (conveyor, saws, kilns, de-barkers) Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints Skilled in welding and fabrication techniques for repairing and modifying equipment components Strong problem‑solving skills to identify and diagnose mechanical issues quickly and accurately Ability to implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems commonly used in sawmill machinery Ability to maintain, repair, and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic issues Basic understanding of electrical systems and components associated with sawmill equipment; knowledge of electrical safety practices Experience in implementing preventive maintenance programs to ensure longevity and reliability of machinery Strict adherence to safety protocols and procedures; knowledge of and compliance with relevant safety regulations in the sawmill industry Effective communication with team members, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate maintenance activities and address concerns Collaborative approach, willingness to mentor less experienced millwrights or apprentices Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast‑paced environment; flexibility to work non‑standard hours or weekends when needed Excellent verbal and written communication skills Team player and highly self‑motivated individual Safety in the workplace a top priority Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb stairs and move equipment as needed Valid driver’s license #J-18808-Ljbffr Stimson Lumber Company
