Job Summary A 59-bed acute primary care facility offering first‑rate health care close to home. A wide range of quality inpatient and outpatient diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation services, home health and hospice services, and a variety of community outreach programs. A dedicated team of quality, caring, health care professionals. Position Summary Performs all types of general diagnostic and radiological procedures. In addition, radiologic technologist, mammography, performs screening and diagnostic mammograms, assists with needle localization procedures, and performs mammographic quality control as directed. Competency is assessed by testing, demonstration, and/or direct observation. Report to the Department Manager and maintain quality assurance and performance improvement activities. Shift and Schedule Full‑Time Days – 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and use of equipment to minimize hazards of electric shock, burns and extraneous radiation. Responsible for safe handling of equipment. Instructs and prepares patients for general radiologic, general fluoroscopic and mammographic procedures. Selects appropriate equipment to use for procedure. Determines most suitable anatomical posture and positions and shields patients accordingly. Able to assess patient pain interfering with imaging procedure; makes appropriate physician contact for intervention. Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors (e.g., adherence to Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals). Accurately completes all necessary PACS functions; assures timely presentation of images to radiologists. Practices aseptic technique for medical and surgical procedures. Assists in maintaining basic records and reports. Performs screening and diagnostic mammograms. Assists with breast needle localization procedures. Assists in training of students and new imaging personnel. Interacts professionally with physicians, patients, family members and employees. Completes all tasks in a timely fashion. Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient, including newborn, pediatric, geriatric and general population. Attends at least 75% of staff meetings; reviews minutes of all unattended meetings. Qualifications High School graduate; BS degree preferred. Graduation from an approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college‑affiliated or hospital‑trained. Certified by the State of California to administer radiation. Current California Fluoroscopy Permit required. Certified by the State of California to perform mammography. Current BLS certification. Minimum of three (3) continuous years experience as a Radiologic Technologist. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Basic computer knowledge. Salary: $35.80 – $48.11 hourly, based upon qualifications and experience. Tenet complies with federal, state, and/or local laws regarding mandatory vaccination of its workforce.
