Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty required License: Compact or state license in hand upon submission Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: Please ensure traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team" with an expectation to stay until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay during emergency events will be relayed as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract to take a position, you accept the above and will report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event occurs. You should not apply for this role if you are not comfortable with the above. Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's. Although Halloween is not a paid holiday, some units may require coverage. Holiday assignments are based on departmental needs and fair staff rotation. Patient diagnoses include heart failure, chest pain, hypertension, stroke, arrhythmia, dysrhythmias, LVAD, post-operative CABG, post-operative MVR, DKA, and EP. Special procedures and unit details include chest tubes, IV drips, and post-operative EP procedures. Patient ratio typically ranges from 1:4-5. The facility does not accept local travelers. Candidates must be over 65 miles from the work address. Resources who worked as permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated for 1 full year before returning as travel staff. References are not required for submission, but 2 manager or supervisor references will be required for contract clearance. NURSYS reports for RNs must be sent with the profile and be up to date within 4 weeks of submission. Module completion is required during the orientation and is factored into orientation hours.
