External Power Distribution Equipment Training Specialist

What You’ll Do Develop, deliver, and facilitate instructor‑led and virtual technical, safety, and power systems trainings. Contribute to the EESS training department by supporting and coordinating training events, including set‑up, scheduling, travel, equipment, and material needs. Create, maintain, and update curricula, lesson plans, and classroom reference materials. Manage student and course evaluations, cost tracking, and continuous improvement efforts within training programs. Apply knowledge of safe electrical work practices as described in NFPA 70E and OSHA 1910 Subpart S. Instruct and demonstrate expertise in commissioning and maintenance of electrical power distribution products and assemblies—including power circuit breakers, motor control centers, unit substations, power transformers, and protective relays. Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop customer training programs and opportunities. Lift, move, and set up demonstration equipment up to 40 pounds, and move equipment on wheels weighing over 40 pounds. Qualifications Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a technical certification from an accredited trade school, or military equivalent, AND minimum 4 years of experience evaluating, testing, installing or maintaining industrial and commercial power systems equipment; ORin lieu of a degree/certification, minimum 10 years of experience in the same domain. Ability to travel up to 75% of the time. Must possess and maintain an active and valid driver’s license. Eaton will not consider applicants for immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Preferred Qualifications Prior exposure to EESS training paths and safety certifications. 7–10 years of experience evaluating, testing, installing, or maintaining industrial and commercial power systems equipment. In‑depth knowledge of NFPA 70E and OSHA practices related to the electrical industry and safety standards. Advanced power systems, relaying, or switchgear testing experience. Skills Knowledge of classroom presentation and instructional methods, technical writing skills, and adult learning styles. Professional presence and the ability to build rapport with diverse personalities at multiple organization levels. Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management abilities. Proficiency with tools for developing new training material, including Microsoft platforms, learning management systems, and electrical system software. Ability to learn and implement new delivery methods and champion change in product, technical, or field programs through instruction.
