Robotics Installation Supervisor/Manager

Per diem, flights, and car rentals are covered if needed.

We are seeking an experienced Robotics Installation Supervisor/Manager to lead long-term robotic equipment installation and commissioning activities at an automotive assembly facility in Louisiana. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong background in industrial automation , robotic systems installation , contractor coordination, safety compliance, and manufacturing launch support.

The successful candidate will oversee installation crews and contractors, ensure work is completed safely and according to project specifications, and support system commissioning through production launch.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate robotic equipment installation activities within an automotive manufacturing environment.
• Lead contractors, skilled trades, technicians, and installation crews throughout all phases of the project.
• Manage daily work schedules, manpower assignments, installation priorities, and project milestones.
• Ensure robotic systems, automation equipment, tooling, guarding, utilities, and related components are installed according to engineering drawings and project requirements.
• Monitor contractor performance and verify compliance with quality, safety, schedule, and installation standards.
• Enforce workplace safety , lockout/tagout procedures, site safety requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Conduct safety observations, installation inspections, quality checks, and progress reviews.
• Identify installation issues, project risks, scheduling conflicts, and technical roadblocks.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, controls, mechanical, electrical, and project management teams.
• Support robot commissioning , system validation, equipment testing, debugging, and production readiness activities.
• Assist with troubleshooting robotic cells, industrial automation systems, controls interfaces, and mechanical or electrical installation concerns.
• Track project progress, document open items, and provide regular status updates to project stakeholders.
• Maintain punch lists and ensure installation deficiencies are resolved before equipment handoff.
• Support manufacturing launch, production ramp-up, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Promote accountability, quality workmanship, and effective communication across all project teams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in industrial automation , robotic equipment installation, or automated manufacturing systems.
• Demonstrated experience supervising contractors, tradespeople, technicians, or installation crews.
• Experience working in an automotive assembly plant, manufacturing facility, or industrial construction environment is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial robotics , automated assembly systems, robotic cells, tooling, conveyors, guarding, and manufacturing equipment.
• Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, controls, and utility installation requirements.
• Experience supporting equipment commissioning, system testing, debugging, or manufacturing launch activities.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety practices, including lockout/tagout , hazard identification, and jobsite safety compliance.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, equipment layouts, installation specifications, and project schedules.
• Strong leadership, contractor management, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or alternate shifts as project demands require.
• Ability to travel and remain on-site in Louisiana for a long-term assignment.
