JOIN OUR TEAM!

Vera French Community Mental Health Center is looking for LPN's and/or RN's to join our team! Work in a small, 15 bed setting where you can develop meaningful, long term relationships with persons with mental and medical challenges. Our Residential Nurses provide direction in the delivery of nursing care through quality, accessible, and healthy living solutions. The Nurse directs other staff members in the implementation of individual treatment plans, and nursing practices. If you put people first, provide good care, and want to have fun while doing it, this is the position for you! We are currently looking for a Full-time Residential Nurse on 1st and 2nd shifts.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Routinely function in the charge nurse position and direct other personnel in the performance of their duties
• Within the limits of the Iowa Administrative Code, plan and direct other personnel in the implementation of independent and dependent nursing functions and interventions utilizing best nursing practices and individualized treatment plans as guidelines.
• Provide leadership in the delivery of general nursing duties
• Accurately transcribe physician orders, administer medications and prescribed treatments, observe and report resident responses, and complete documentation.
• Participate in the development and implementation of the resident Treatment Plan
• Provide teaching according to resident treatment plans.
• Provide appropriate interventions to teach clients skills involving activities of daily living, community integration, functional, social, advocacy, and skills to promote physical and emotional health.
• Help to maintain the safety of residents, staff, and visitors.
• Strive to provide the highest quality services possible

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Associate degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's degree preferred
• A valid license as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the state of Iowa
• Ability to relate in a respectful, constructive manner with excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical with a drug and alcohol screen

Additionally, you are hereby authorized to make any investigation of my personal history, educational background, military record,
motor vehicle records, criminal records, and credit history through an investigative or credit agency or bureau of your choice. I
authorize the release of this information by the appropriate agencies to the investigating service. I authorize and give permission for
the individuals listed as references to provide written information and/or verbally discuss my background with Vera French
Community Mental Health Center, or any of its affiliates.

This authorization, in original or copy form, shall be valid for this and any future reports and updates that may be required.
I understand that passing the background check is a condition of employment. A negative background check can be grounds for
dismissal, even if an offer has been made to me and I have been hired.
