Job Details Job ID: 5139736 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: May 02, 2025 12:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description POSITION: ELEMENTARY LUNCHROOM / PLAYGROUND SUPERVISOR Position Guide: Non – Certified Personnel Part‑Time 9 Months Non‑Bargaining Non‑Exempt Function: Lunch supervisors in elementary schools have many tasks that they must execute in order to ensure that the day moves along smoothly for everyone. Lunchroom supervisors oversee meal service for elementary school students. Duties include recording and maintaining proper meal temperatures, distributing meals and milk to students according to district and government regulations, supervising students as directed by the school principal, depositing student payments, scanning tickets or IDs, reconciling cash, running end‑of‑the‑day reports for participation and deposits, and performing general housekeeping duties such as cleaning the school kitchen/serving area and lunch tables. Additional duties may be assigned. Reports to: School Principal Nutrition Services Service Coordinator Position Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED program. Must be able to relate to and enjoy being around children. Must be able to work cooperatively with a wide variety of people. Must be able to demonstrate fundamental math skills. Must be able to physically perform all duties associated with the position. Moderate lifting, bending and prolonged periods of standing and circulating are required. Fluent in Reading, Writing and Speaking English. Performance Responsibilities: Under the direction of the school Principal/Assistant Principal, assist children during lunch by opening milk, snacks, juices or lunches. Younger children may need help opening packaged condiments such as ketchup, mustard, relish, syrup, and mayonnaise, or fruit such as bananas or oranges. Wearing gloves when handling food. Handling student requests for restroom use or medical assistance. Assisting children who eat lunch in the classroom. Deposit student money, scan lunch tickets or IDs, count cash, and run end‑of‑the‑day reports for participation and deposit. Ensure cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas. Maintain allergy information for students and provide necessary information to aides. Ensure students are properly seated and maintain a reasonable noise level. Monitor for misbehavior, ensuring students do not touch each other, pull on each other, or engage in horseplay. Separate students if necessary to maintain calm. Inform the principal or designee of misbehaved students or any medical problems and injuries. Maintain cleanliness of milk coolers and heating cabinets weekly; record and maintain proper meal temperatures; wipe tables down for the next class. Line students in an orderly, quiet line and escort them to recess, ensuring they remain calm in the halls. Organize and supervise students during recess, ensuring safety and that hands are kept to themselves. Walk students back to the building and wait with them until their teacher arrives. Perform any other duties, responsibilities or projects as directed by the Principal or Nutrition Services Coordinator.
