Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join an inpatient behavioral health unit in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This 13-week assignment involves providing comprehensive nursing care to pediatric and behavioral health patients during 12-hour night shifts.

The RN will assess patient needs, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications, provide therapeutic support, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary treatment team to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Provide therapeutic interventions and crisis support.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
• Delegate tasks to support staff and serve as charge nurse when assigned.
• Monitor for safety concerns and communicate changes in patient condition promptly.

Schedule and Requirements

• 12-hour night shifts.
• Every other weekend required.
• No on-call responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

• Active Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient behavioral health experience.
• Pediatric experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with child and adolescent psychiatric patients.
• Strong assessment, crisis intervention, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
