Surveyor

Provides technical survey expertise and coordinates survey activities to support Morgan Corp.’s heavy civil construction projects. Works collaboratively with the Survey Manager, project teams, and field crews to develop accurate survey data and 3D models, coordinate field operations, and ensure survey requirements are completed safely and efficiently and in accordance with project plans, specifications, and company standards. Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions/Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform project required stake-out and as-built dutiesPerform level loops and traverse loops to verify control elevations and coordinates. Perform and verify site calibrations to maintain survey accuracy. Review project scope, plans, and specifications and communicate survey requirements to field crews. Coordinate with Safety Manager to plan project support and schedules.Review survey work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements. Provide technical expertise and guidance regarding surveying methods, procedures, and technology. Train and mentor team members on Morgan Corp. field and office surveying practices. With advancement, learn to develop 3D models using Trimble Business Center, AutoCAD, and other survey technology.With advancement, learn to prepare as-built drawings and documentation for project closeout submittals.Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project specific requirements.Additional DutiesMaintain assigned equipment, project documentation, and work areas in a clean and organized manner. Participate in required safety meetings and training. Assist with survey and project support activities as needed. Extended hours, overtime, weekends, and/or night shifts may be required. Perform other duties as assigned.Skills, Knowledge & ExpertiseEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred. Three (3) or more years of construction surveying or related experience required. Experience with Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD preferred. Experience developing 3D models and preparing as-built drawings preferred. Experience performing site calibrations, level loops, traverse loops, and construction survey control preferred. Experience coordinating field survey activities and providing technical guidance to survey personnel preferred.Other RequirementsValid driver's license required. Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening. Position must follow Morgan Corp.'s Fit for Duty Physical Program. Ability to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, and/or night shifts as project schedules require. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, wind, and other environmental conditions common to heavy civil construction. Strong commitment to Morgan Corp.'s safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations. Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to solve problems, provide technical guidance, and adapt to changing project conditions with limited supervision. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Office, and other survey software and technology.
