Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a registered nurse (RN) for a Medical Surgical (MS) Stroke Stepdown specialty in Utica, New York. Candidates will be responsible for providing specialized care to adult patients with diagnoses such as stroke, altered mental status, renal, dialysis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and other pulmonary issues. The position requires candidates to bring their license on the first day of employment.

Job Details:

• Location: Utica, New York
• Shift: Nights, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (Block scheduling is never promised or guaranteed)
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Required Qualifications: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, and active New York (NY) Registered Nurse (RN) license. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Surgical (MS) units with stroke stepdown experience, documentation of travel experience, and valid drivers licenses with addresses matching demographics. A current Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience with EPIC is required. Candidates must meet the following criteria: active NY license, all active RN licenses, and must include their Return to Office (RTO) approval at the time of submission.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with IV pumps, N/G tubes, feeding tubes, and familiarity with common diagnoses such as stroke, altered mental status, renal issues, dialysis, COPD, CHF, pneumonia, and pulmonary problems. Travel experience is required.
• Additional Information: Candidates must submit an up-to-date resume that reflects 2+ years of experience in Medical Surgical units with stroke stepdown expertise and documentation of travel experience.
