Facilities Supervisor

Reports To: General Manager

Summary/Objectives: The Maintenance Supervisor develops and maintains maintenance and repair processes through maintenance work order system. The maintenance supervisor is responsible for planning and overseeing the work of maintenance staff to ensure safe and efficient operations of the facility. The maintenance supervisor will be responsible for establishing improvement processes with machine and equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

• Provide technical expertise for equipment and machinery throughout the facility.
• Evaluate and resolve causes machinery and equipment failure through maintenance work order and preventative maintenance system.
• Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality at assigned work location
• Leads and motivates a group of maintenance technicians whose primary responsibility is to repair and maintain machinery and equipment.
• Will be responsible for making sure tools and machinery are maintained at adequate levels and that shop areas are neatly organized, clean and safe.
• Keeping a record of all maintenance and service activities conducted and maintaining a preventative maintenance cycle.
• Interacting with other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems in a facility.
• Complying with all safety norms and regulations set by the industry.
• Works with department manager to adhere to budgeted cost parameters.
• Ensure all the building codes are in order
• Provides strong technical guidance and leadership to maintenance, facilities, housekeeping, and special projects personnel.
• Ensures employee technical training, preventive maintenance, repair, facilities maintenance, all machine processes, environmental and building security issues are addressed on a timely and proactive basis.
• Coordinates all vendor managed repairs and service contracts.
• Reviews current assets and determines the best method to consolidate to equipment of choice as well as review of new equipment.
• Leads or mentors special projects related to maximizing plant efficiency through process improvements.
• Obtains tools and equipment necessary to achieve manufacturing goals.
• Compiles information necessary for capital expenditures and budget preparation.
• Recruits, mentors, assigns work and performs coaching and evaluation of maintenance, facilities and housekeeping personnel.
• Performs Duties as assigned by Manager.
• Responsible for maintenance and upkeep both inside and out of all Pelco Products Inc. facilities.
• Must be able to provide cost improvement plans on existing facilities and machinery.

Education and/or Experience:

Required:

• 5 – 10 years industry experience with 3–5 years direct experience in a maintenance related activity.
• 1-3 years supervisor experience.
• Knowledge of maintenance operations, machinery and manufacturing and assembly operations.
• Computer experience (MS Office, Word, Excel, Power Point preferred)
• Experienced in root cause analysis techniques.
• Familiar with lean manufacturing techniques.

The employee is required to stand for long periods of time and occasionally required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move heavier items utilizing a team lift. Required Personal Protective Equipment includes, but is not limited to, safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, respirator mask, and coveralls. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne contaminants, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Work environment is not climate-controlled. The noise level may exceed permissible exposure limit and hearing protection may be required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-Time. Work Schedule: Day Shift Monday - Thursday 7:00 am - 4:30 pm, Friday 7:00 am - 11:00 am.

500.00 sign on bonus after 90 days (for new employees to Pelco Solutions)

Travel: Minimal travel is expected for this position.
