Surgery - General Physician Assistant

Westchester County, New York - Surgical Physician Assistant Job

Clinical Role:

• Permanent position
• Seeking a board certified or truly board eligible Physician Assistant
• Hospital-based surgical practice
• Four 10-hour shifts per week
• Work alongside an experienced team of surgeons and APPs
• First assist in a wide variety of surgical specialties, including:
  • General Surgery
  • Bariatric Surgery
  • Head & Neck Surgery
  • OB/GYN
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Vascular Surgery
  • Thoracic Surgery
  • Plastic Surgery
• DaVinci robotic experience preferred, but not required (training provided)
• Morning rounds on pre- and post-operative patients
• Complete H&Ps for routine and emergent admissions
• Perform surgical consultations
• Comfortable working independently when needed
• Procedures include:
  • Central lines
  • Arterial lines
  • Chest tubes
  • Dialysis catheters
  • Incision and drainage
• Call schedule:
  • Typically one weeknight per week
  • Every 5th weekend (moving to every 6th weekend)
  • Candidates should live within approximately 30 minutes of the hospital for call
