Location: Temple, TX - Baylor Scott and White Health
Schedule: Full-time Days
Opportunities available in: Med/Surg, Ortho, Neuro, Telemetry, Progressive Care, Observation, and Oncology.
Job Summary
The Patient Care Technician handles various duties under a licensed nurse's supervision. Helps deliver patient care and meet family needs. Follows the care plan, considering the patient's age and development stage.
What Can You Expect To Do As A Patient Care Tech?
- Collects and records patient data, including vital signs.
- Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
- Responds to call lights and conducts regular patient rounds.
- Provides personal hygiene care and assists with patient clean-up.
- Adheres to Baylor Scott & White policies and procedures.
- Performs glucose monitoring and collects specimens as requested.
- Will be required to directly support multiple patients during each shift.

· Compassion – This is both a physically and emotionally demanding job. Compassion for patients is one of the biggest factors in becoming successful.
· Communication – Clear communication with patients and staff, both verbally and in writing.
· Positive attitude – You will see people in some of their worst moments. Having a positive attitude can help brighten the lives of those you care for.
· Teamwork – The ability to work with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses and physicians, is the key to provide better patient care.

Qualifications
- EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
- EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience
Certification/License/Registration
- Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.
