Facilities Maintenance TechnicianSpot On Veterinary is seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep of our Stamford and Westport veterinary hospitals.This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and taking pride in maintaining safe, clean, and well-functioning facilities. No two days are exactly alike—you may be repairing a door in the morning, touching up paint after lunch, assembling shelving, or assisting with a facility improvement project before heading home.We're looking for someone who is reliable, resourceful, and willing to tackle a variety of maintenance tasks that help keep our hospitals operating efficiently for our staff, clients, and patients.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform general building maintenance and minor repairs at both Stamford and Westport locations.Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and appliance repairs.Replace fixtures, hardware, lighting, ceiling tiles, and other building components.Perform preventative maintenance and routine facility inspections.Assist with facility improvement projects, seasonal maintenance, and general clean-up.Perform minor landscaping and exterior upkeep as needed.Identify maintenance concerns before they become larger issues and communicate repair needs promptly.Coordinate with management when outside vendors or specialized repairs are required.Maintain maintenance equipment, tools, and storage areas in a clean and organized manner.Follow all workplace safety procedures and company policies.Required QualificationsPrevious experience performing general building maintenance, facility maintenance, or handyman work.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between both hospital locations.Strong time management and organizational skills.Ability to prioritize multiple tasks throughout the workday.Comfortable working around dogs and cats in a veterinary environment.Proficient in spoken and written English.Reliable attendance and punctuality.Preferred QualificationsExperience in one or more of the following is preferred:Commercial building maintenanceMedical or veterinary facilitiesProperty maintenancePainting and drywall repairBasic plumbing or electrical troubleshootingGeneral handyman experiencePhysical RequirementsLifting up to 50 pounds.Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and reaching throughout the workday.Safely operating hand and power tools.Performing manual labor for extended periods.Work EnvironmentIndoor and occasional outdoor work throughout the year.Exposure to dogs, cats, cleaning and disinfecting products, and maintenance equipment.Fast-paced veterinary hospital environment.What Makes Someone Successful in This RoleTakes pride in producing quality work.Notices problems before they're pointed out.Works well independently without constant supervision.Is dependable and arrives ready to work.Enjoys hands-on projects and solving problems.Understands that every task—whether it's repairing a door, replacing a light fixture, touching up paint, or helping move equipment—contributes to the success of the team.Please NoteThis position focuses on general facility maintenance and repairs.
