Travel RN - TelemetryAmerican TravelerWilmington, North Carolina, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: NightsLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1$2,101.00/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)DescriptionAmerican Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry position requiring 2 years of cardiac experience and NC or compact RN licensure.DetailsCardiac Telemetry unit within a Rapid Response departmentNight shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15), 36 hours per weekPatient ratio of 1:6Patient population includes Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, valve disorders, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, PVD/PAD, vasculitis, carotid stenosis, and venous stasisUnit supports post-procedural care for CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman), VATS, carotid endarterectomy, fem-pop bypass, amputations, and other cardiac/thoracic/vascular surgeriesUses arterial lines, Doppler, bladder scanner, EKG, femoral sheaths, TR band, fem-stop, chest tubes, and epicardial pacing wiresUtilizes Pyxis, Epic, and SBAR communication systemsFloating required as neededWeekend coverage required (4 shifts per 4 weeks)No on-call requirementsContracts of 13-26 weeks acceptedMay be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events or disastersRequirementsActive NC or compact RN license requiredBLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferredMinimum 2 years of cardiac nursing experience requiredMS/Tele or Step-down experience preferredEpic charting experience preferredSkills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial and central line management, and peripheral line careExperience managing and titrating cardiac drips preferredSkills in dysrhythmia interpretation and managementWound care/wound vac experience preferredRadial artery line experience preferredMust pass EKG testing prior to startAdditional InformationProvide cardiac telemetry nursing care including post-cath, post-DCCV, and post-electrophysiology monitoring24-hour unit orientation providedScrub requirement: navy blue pants with white topMust work 2 of 3 major holidaysUp to 7 days of RTO auto-approved if not on a holiday; no RTO during first week of assignmentFirst-time travelers accepted only if they have more than 24 months of cardiac experiencePrevious Novant Health or New Hanover PERM/PRN/EP employees must wait 12 months before reapplying, with facility approval requiredLocal candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rateTravel pairs allowed if on different units with separate schedules and transportation
