About The Role The Food Service Worker I plays a vital role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment within retail food service settings. This position is responsible for preparing and serving food items according to established standards, maintaining hygiene and sanitation protocols, and providing excellent customer service. The role requires collaboration with team members to efficiently manage food inventory and support daily operations. The Food Service Worker I contributes to the overall customer experience by ensuring timely and accurate food preparation and presentation. Ultimately, this position supports the smooth functioning of food service activities, promoting customer satisfaction and compliance with health regulations. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Capability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds. Legal authorization to work in the United States. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a food service or retail environment. Food Handler’s Certification or equivalent food safety training. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Familiarity with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and basic cash handling. Responsibilities Prepare and serve food items following standardized recipes and portion controls. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation and service areas in compliance with health and safety regulations. Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food inventory to ensure freshness and minimize waste. Provide courteous and efficient customer service, addressing customer inquiries and requests promptly. Operate kitchen equipment safely and report any maintenance issues to supervisors. Follow all food safety guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of food products. Support team members in daily food service operations and assist with setup and cleanup tasks.
