Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring CA licensure and 2 years of PACU/ICU experience in a high-acuity hospital setting.

Details

• Work in the PACU unit of a hospital environment
• Care for geriatric, adult, and adolescent patients from admission through discharge
• Peri-anesthesia nursing including airway management, pharmacology, and nursing assessment
• Day shift schedule (4x10 hours), with start times of 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM
• No weekend shifts required
• Float required to other campuses within the health system based on census needs
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required
• Current ACLS certification required
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required, preferably in a high-acuity care hospital
• ICU experience required
• Cath Lab experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide individualized peri-anesthesia nursing care based on knowledge of pharmacology and nursing process
• Skills utilized may include airway management, cardiovascular monitoring, neurological care, and management of various surgical cases across specialties such as ENT, ortho, neuro, vascular, and bariatrics
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius to qualify for the local rate
• Returning employees must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
• Must be available to complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
