Overview The Utility Technician is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness of the Distribution Center, changing forklift batteries, and running supplies to the operations floor as needed. This role typically reports to the Sr. Mgr. Safety and Maintenance and is based in the Stockbridge Distribution Center. How you’ll make an impact: 75%: Daily Operations – Scrubbing facility floors by use of propane-powered equipment; moving plastic bales from balers into trailers with lift equipment; running supplies to the Operations floor including keeping pick mods stocked with corrugate; changing cardboard compactor containers; assist operations in changing forklift batteries; observe housekeeping, safety and C-TPAT compliance in assigned area of responsibility and stay within company safety policies. 25%: Support Functions – Maintenance of facility property (building grounds, HVAC, generators, sprinkler systems, security systems, etc.); support the Coordinator/Supervisor in all duties across operational areas of the Distribution Center; perform other tasks as assigned. We’d love to hear from you if: Must have: You will operate equipment, like a scrubber and forklifts, for most of your shift, so you must be able to pass the driver and safety certification. Experience using routine industrial hand tools. Team player willing to perform various job duties to support the department and the facility objectives and key performance indicators. A customer-service orientation willing to exceed the expectations our customers. Ability to lift to 50 pounds repetitively, scan with RF equipment, bend, twist, and be on your feet for shifts up to 12 hours long. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others (Supervisors, Managers, and peers). Flexibility to work overtime and comply with blackout periods during peak periods. Preferred skills and experience: Previous custodial experience preferred. A self-starter with a desire to exceed expectations.
