POSITION:

High School Art Teacher Gervais High School is building a brand new and expanded space for the art classroom, with professional printand studio production equipment. The new space will be finished this summer to support this growing CTE pathway. The art teacher has a section ofIntro to Art andDigital Media electives for middle school students to introduce and build interest in the program. There are also sections ofIntro to Art and Design,Digital Imaging,Graphic Design,Media Production (newspaper and yearbook), andPhoto Journalism(newspaper and yearbook) for high school students. There are additional stipends available to serve as the Inkling studentnewspaper and yearbookadvisor. This teacher will participate in the Mid-Willamette Education Consortium visual communications PLC, with additional classroom project funding available through this partnership.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

190-day contract

SALARY:

$48,453.74 - $94,590.19 depending on experience and education

STARTING DATE:

September 2026

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid Oregon teaching license with appropriate endorsements Bachelor’s or higher degree in education or other acceptable educational training in area of study as required by Oregon license. Knowledge and understanding of the 21st Century Schools Act. Knowledge of current educational practices and methods, evaluation techniques, behavior management techniques, and communication techniques. Prior job-related experience will be considered but not required. Valid First Aid Card as requested by Principal. Official transcripts will be required of the successful candidate.
