Senior Fullstack Engineer

Senior Fullstack Engineer

Bobyard is building modern software for construction. As our fullstack engineer and user base grow, we need a senior engineer to own our React architecture and raise the UI bar.

You'll lead fullstack development across the product — architecture, performance, UX — while working full-stack in Django and PostgreSQL as needed. High autonomy, high ownership. No layers of process. We ship to real users who depend on speed and reliability.

What You'll Do

• Own frontend architecture: Set standards for React across the codebase. Drive performance, accessibility, and UX. Make our UI fast and intuitive.

• Build full-stack: Primarily React, with Django and PostgreSQL. Ship complete features, not just components.

• Design for scale: Make architecture decisions that hold when usage grows 100x. Frontend and backend.

• Partner on product: Work with design, product, and CV to scope and ship features users rely on. Influence the roadmap.

• Run production: Deploy to AWS/GCP. Instrument, monitor, debug. Build systems that reduce operational load.

• Raise the bar: Mentor engineers. Review code. Improve our frontend practices and tooling. Prototype fast and validate with users.

You Are

• High-ownership: Comfortable with ambiguity. Create clarity and deliver.

• Product-minded: Understand why we build. Strong UI/UX judgment. Advocate for the user and protect scope.

• Technically strong: Deep React expertise. Solid system design and performance fundamentals. Scaled apps to significant usage.

• Full-stack capable: Can work across the stack. No handoffs. Accountable for outcomes.

• Fast learner: Evaluate and adopt new tools when they help. Ship quickly.

• Startup-focused: Prefer impact over process. Execute in a fast environment.

• Calm under pressure: Balance roadmap work, production issues, and technical leadership. Prioritize and delegate.

Full-time, in-person San Francisco. We value demonstrated impact and learning rate over pedigree. If you build high-quality interfaces, set technical direction, and elevate the team — let's talk.

We are proud to offer competitive, top-of-market compensation because we want to celebrate the dedicated people who ship amazing work and drive our success. Our individual compensation is thoughtfully tailored based on your role, experience, and contributions, alongside performance-based rewards.
