Advanced EMT | Emergency Technician

This role supports registered nurses, physician assistants, and physicians by assisting with basic procedures in a busy emergency department setting. The Advanced EMT provides care across all age groups, including infants, children, and adults, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
• Assist healthcare professionals with simple patient care procedures.
• Provide support with splinting, casting, and immobilizing patient extremities.
• Help transport patients within the emergency department as needed.
• Perform daily equipment checks and maintain logs to comply with regulatory standards.
• Support inventory management, including stocking and ordering supplies (optional).

Qualifications

• Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
• Basic computer proficiency preferred.
• Ability to meet physical demands such as lifting and pushing patients or equipment.
• Preferred: Minimum of 2 years experience in an emergency department environment.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.

Certifications

• Must hold a current EMT or Paramedic certification.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider program required.
• NVCI certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• For employees with prior CNA certification hired before 2/4/2020, maintain a minimum of 10 related CEUs annually as an alternative to CNA recertification.

All candidates must successfully complete a physical evaluation, drug screening, and background check prior to employment. Compliance with regional COVID-19 vaccination requirements is mandatory.
