Our organization is on the lookout for a Hospitalist Physician to become a part of our esteemed Hospital Medicine team in the picturesque Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. About This RoleAs a Hospitalist Physician, you will deliver thorough inpatient care within our 20-bed Medical-Surgical Unit and a 4-bed ICU, collaborating with committed physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, and care coordinators. This position allows you to serve a varied patient demographic while practicing the full spectrum of hospital medicine.
Our Hospital Medicine team operates on a 3-physician rotation model, offering flexible scheduling options for both day and night coverage:
Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Night Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
1800 contract hours annually
Flexible scheduling with options for primarily days, primarily nights, or dedicated night shifts
Support from a dedicated Nurse Practitioner from 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, assisting with admissions and patient rounds
Applicants should be comfortable working independently and managing ventilated patients, although procedural skills are not a requirement.

Deliver comprehensive inpatient care, including diagnosis, treatment, care coordination, preventive care, and health maintenance.
Oversee admissions, inpatient care, and discharge planning while collaborating with patients, families, primary care providers, and specialists.
Respond to rapid response events and code situations, providing clinical leadership and support to interdisciplinary teams.
Review diagnostic studies, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, and coordinate referrals as necessary.
Engage in peer review, quality improvement initiatives, provider meetings, and ongoing professional development.
MD or DO from an accredited medical institution
Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE)
A minimum of one year of experience as a Hospitalist is required
Current Vermont Medical License or the ability to obtain one
Current Vermont DEA Certificate or the ability to obtain one
BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory
Proficiency in ventilator management is essential
