The Role Stratus recently partnered with Stewart and is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join the team. This person will provide expert-level technical design to manage and produce consistently high-quality design on a wide variety of bridge projects, both large- and small-scale, including the design of steel and concrete vehicular and pedestrian bridges. Responsibilities Prepare the layout and design of conventional and complex bridge structures Prepare and complete discipline engineering designs that are responsive to project needs, including the production of bridge design, shop drawing review, quantities, cost estimates, construction administration, and final specifications, ensuring that work is accurate and in accordance with good engineering codes and practice Plan and review the production of engineering drawings and specifications Conduct field observations and data collection activities Oversee and prepare design details, plans, and drawings within specific task areas Analyze technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions Mentor junior bridge designers and new graduate engineers, including training to use software, how to perform design tasks, and plan production.
