Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2+ years of Med Surg/Telemetry experience required License: Active Iowa or compact nursing license Certifications: Active BLS, Active NIHSS certification Must-Have: - Completion of skills checklist specific to Med Surg/Telemetry - Supervisory reference form completed within the last two years - Valid driver's license Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the traveler contributes professional and clinical knowledge. The role involves the provision and management of care to patients. Types of patients include those recovering from prostatectomy, mastectomy, abdominal surgeries, and thyroidectomy. The position requires administering drips such as heparin. The nurse will care for post-operative patients requiring overnight stays. The traveler may be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses. Every other weekend availability is required. Participants must have a professional demeanor and adhere to a dress code of navy blue.
