This full-time contract position runs through the end of the school year and is located in a welcoming community. Contribute your expertise in helping elementary and middle school students succeed—while enjoying a well-structured schedule and a manageable caseload.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current and active Occupational Therapist license in New York State
- Previous experience in a school-based OT setting preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy documentation
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including teachers and families
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Adaptability in working with students across elementary and middle school grades
Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students in both elementary and middle schools; both sites are within easy walking distance
- Manage a schedule of approximately 9 sessions per day, with time allocated for planning
- Assess student needs, develop tailored intervention plans, and monitor progress toward goals
- Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings and team conferences as needed
- Provide consultative support to teachers and staff to integrate therapy goals into classrooms
- Foster a positive, supportive environment that encourages student engagement and growth
This position offers a consistent weekday schedule, from 7:30am to 3:00pm, working 32.5 hours per week. You’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference while developing your skills in a collaborative school community.
