Pharmacy Technician

The Harborview Medical Center Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding Pharmacy Technician to join our Outpatient Pharmacy Team!

Per Diem

Rotating/variable shifts

Position Highlights

Assist the Pharmacist in professional activities and perform assigned tasks in the outpatient pharmacies

All activities of Pharmacy Technicians are performed under the direct supervision of a registered Pharmacist

Primary Job Responsibilities

Assist patients with intake of new and refill prescriptions.

Order entry of medication orders, which would include controlled substances, into the ambulatory pharmacy computer system, for pharmacist verification.

Fill patient prescriptions and perform financial functions supporting the prescription-filling process.

Dispense prescriptions to patients, appropriately referring those who require counseling to a pharmacist for dispensing.

Strong candidates will have experience working in an outpatient pharmacy setting.

Required Position Qualifications

Six months of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant OR equivalent education/experience

Legal Requirement

State of Washington Pharmacy Technician certification
