Tennis Camp Counselor

Tennis Camp Counselor Various Park District Locations Overview Salary Range $15.50 Hourly Level Entry Position Type Seasonal Description As a Tennis Camp Counselor, you will teach tennis lessons, effectively communicate, and demonstrate proper techniques to junior players. Successfully transfer skills, such as grip, stroke production, serve, footwork and rules, and follow group lesson plans (directed by Camp Director). Follow weekly activity plans at the beginning of each week. Complete timesheet daily by accurately inputting hours worked. Maintain a strong working relationship with the Park District staff. Possess strong public relations skills. Maintain cleanliness of camp site and all Park District facilities. Maintain and inventory all equipment at the end of the camp day. Provide leadership, supervision and guidance to all campers in the program. Distribute ice packs when directed by the Camp Director to the specific participants. Responsible to complete accident reports in a timely manner and notify Camp Director of a possible injury or illness immediately. Qualifications Must be 16 years of age or more and have an interest in working with children in a recreational camp setting. Must display a positive and energetic attitude when working with campers. Prior experience working with youth is preferred but not required. Must be able to get in the water (pool or lake) for recreational swim time with campers. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time in various weather conditions (heat, sun, humidity, light rain, etc.) Must be able to stand, walk, and move actively on court surfaces for up to 6 hours per day. Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment up to 25 pounds. Frequent bending, reaching, and demonstrating tennis movements required. Must be able to project voice clearly and communicate effectively in a lively outdoor camp environment Working Conditions: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly outside and exposed to outside weather conditions including hot and humid weather and cold and rainy weather.
