The Arc Ontario Story:Founded in 1954 we believe that All individuals with disabilities or other challenges are one with their community.ResponsibilitiesProvides hands-on assistance, instruction and training to individuals which will enable them to develop and/or acquire skills in various aspects of daily living which may include communication, social, recreational, and leisure activities, self or personal care, household management, travel, work related or vocational opportunities, money management, etc. in accordance with individualized plan of service, and following all safety considerations.Accompanies individuals to activities in the community to provide supervision, skills training, support or assistance, e.g. grocery shopping, banking, recreation, entertainment, medical appointments. Assists in planning group leisure activities, recreational events and community activities, career exploration and internship coaching at the request of the site supervisor.Participates in the ongoing assessment and evaluation of individual's needs and abilities. Assists individuals in determining valued outcomes, activities and staff supports to form plans of service.
