Crew Chief

What You Will Do Lead and participate in boundary, topographic, construction, and as-built surveys. Operate and oversee surveying equipment including GPS units, total stations, levels, and data collectors. Direct daily field operations and ensure accuracy and efficiency of survey work. Collect, process, and verify field data for project deliverables. Perform survey calculations including coordinate geometry, traversing, and leveling. Prepare and review field notes, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Assist in preparing survey maps, plats, and drawings using CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D). Research deeds, land records, and supporting documentation as needed. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and team members to meet project goals. Ensure compliance with Pennsylvania surveying regulations and company standards. Maintain equipment and ensure proper care and calibration. Promote and enforce safe work practices and participate in safety meetings. Mentor and guide junior field staff and support their development. What You Bring 3+ years of land surveying experience, including field leadership responsibilities. Strong proficiency with surveying equipment (GPS, total stations, levels). Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D; familiarity with Carlson software is a plus. Solid understanding of survey calculations, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to interpret survey data, maps, and legal descriptions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Effective communication and leadership skills. Valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Ability and willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrains. Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 25 pounds. Ability to travel to project sites throughout the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas. Ability to balance field and occasional office responsibilities.
