Unarmed Security Supervisor

Position Available: Security Site Supervisor - 1st Shift


Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 2:30pm at Chippewa Valley Schools in Clinton Township, MI

Position does include some required overtime.

Wage: $19.00/hour

Primary Responsibilities:

• Supervise security team across the whole school district
• Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.
• Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments and work techniques.
• Conduct ALICE training as needed for required staff
• Participate in the development and writing of district-wide security policies and procedures
• Secure premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry
• Unlock buildings/doors after checking identification and compliance with policies
• Observe activity and traffic in assigned area to enforce rules/regulations; alert visitors of infractions
• Assist any persons in building or on grounds needing directions or information
• Prevent losses or damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; restraining trespassers
• Complete reports by recording observations and information, occurrences and surveillance activities; submit reports to Director of Security as necessary
• Respond to alarms and/or dispatched calls
• Assist law enforcement officers with crowd control if needed

Position Requirements:

• 2 years previous supervisory experience
• Surveillance Skills, Incumbent must be able to view and turn head continuously throughout day.
• Deals with Uncertainty, ability to make objective judgment calls.
• Must have emotional control and deliver communication with integrity and respect toward others.
• Lift up to 40 pounds, and climb stairs.
• Bend, squat, twist, and turn multiple times during your shift, and be on your feet for up to 10 hours per day.
• Read, write, follow direction, and communicate clearly in English.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license
• Any other duties assigned.
