Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday with some call coverage on weekends.

Experience: Minimum 6 years

License: Current RN license

Certifications: ACLS certification, CNOR preferred

Must-Have: Experience in all three areas: Pre-op, OR/Circulator, PACU.

Description: The RN is responsible for providing direct patient care within the surgical services. The RN must function as a primary caregiver and be able to work in pre-op, the operating room as a circulator, and the PACU. The work week is 40 hours with rotational call on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. General working hours are 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional late days to complete surgical case loads. The RN will conduct assessments and document care. They will provide emotional support and coordinate patient transfers. The RN will recover patients and circulate surgical cases. They will assist with processing instruments and equipment in central sterilizing. The RN will prepare patients for surgery and provide patient education. There is a requirement for knowledge of technical procedures and care. The RN must adhere to infection control principles and general policies of the department. The position requires the ability to perform effectively in highly stressful situations. Good communication skills are necessary to interact effectively with a variety of people. Physical demands include long periods of standing, walking, and heavy lifting. Exposure to blood and body fluids, as well as infectious diseases, is possible. The RN reports directly to the Surgical Services Manager or designee.
