School Counselor

Qualifications Master's Degree in School Counseling and hold, or be eligible to hold, a Utah State Board of Education School Counselor license. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Counsel students by providing guidance services and giving staff and parent support. Provide guidance & support for students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social needs, and individual planning. Teach guidance curriculum and help students gain vision of the relationship between academic performance and career opportunities. Present professional development to teachers & parents. Coordinate parent involvement activities. Crisis intervention. Develop student intervention plans. Provide small group counseling for interaction, communication & support skill development. Set up/attend conferences for support groups, test interpretations with parents, new student orientation with parents. Salary Placed on the Licensed Teacher Salary Schedule. Placement and Experience Credit Placement is determined by education level and years of experience. Experience credit will be awarded for the first ten (10) years of certified experience in an accredited school. Benefits Low-cost teacher housing available. Hours Full time, 193 days.
