Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry

Location

Baltimore, MD | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric Medical-Surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring, maintaining a 1:5 patient ratio
• Perform telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management , including on-unit and remote telemetry monitoring
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code Team activations as required
• Manage blood product administration, central lines, peripheral lines, PICC lines, heparin protocols, and non-titratable cardiac drips
• Provide care involving pre/post cardiac catheterization, feeding tube management, PCA, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal, surgical drains, tracheostomy, and wound/wound vac management
• Float within scope of care to meet unit needs as required; complete required orientation modules virtually on the first day of contract

Required Qualifications

• Active Maryland RN license or valid Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• Must pass a telemetry interpretation exam (pass/fail) administered during orientation
• Strong experience in telemetry/dysrhythmia interpretation, on-unit and remote telemetry monitoring, Rapid Response/Code Team, pre/post cardiac catheterization, and all clinical skills listed in responsibilities
• Local candidates are welcome

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with Cerner electronic health record system preferred
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
