Acute Rehab Patient Care Assistant (PCA) Cna Preferred
Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as an Acute Rehab Patient Care Assistant (PCA). Under the guidance of licensed nurses, you will provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients in a supportive and safety-focused environment.
Working under the supervision of an RN, LPN, or shift manager, the PCA delivers direct patient care, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the recovery process.
Adhere to established safety protocols including infection control, safe patient handling, and timely communication of patient condition changes.
Perform basic care tasks such as monitoring vital signs, glucometer checks, assisting with toileting, feeding, bathing, and mobility activities.
Collaborate closely with nursing staff to meet patient needs promptly and enhance their overall experience.
Accurately document all care activities to support clinical decision-making and team communication.
Effectively communicate relevant patient information to healthcare team members to improve outcomes and quality of care.
High school diploma or GED is preferred.
At least one year of experience and certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred.
If uncertified or with less than one year of experience, candidates must complete a PCA training academy. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 90 days of employment; training is provided.
This role requires significant mental focus and physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, and various movements such as turning, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
Frequent exposure to infectious and communicable diseases through blood and bodily fluids is expected. Occasional encounters with hostile individuals may occur.
