The role requires a close collaboration with inpatient departments to ensure continuity of care and active participation in departmental and hospital-wide initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesInpatient Nurse ResponsibilitiesConsult with inpatients as requested for wound and ostomy care.Serve as a resource and educator for inpatient nursing staff regarding wound, skin, ostomy, pressure ulcer prevention, and continence issues.Educate patients and families about wound, ostomy, skin, and incontinence care.Engage positively with nursing staff to empower them in providing skin/wound/ostomy care.Provide ostomy care for both inpatient and outpatient settings.Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and education.Manage incontinence issues in patients with urinary and bowel dysfunction.Demonstrate knowledge of wound staging systems and use appropriate resources for patient care.Collaborate with other departments to provide effective patient care.Ensure patient safety through appropriate use of equipment and adherence to universal precautions.Manage outpatient ostomy patient scheduling and clinic visits.Stay updated on wound care and ostomy products.Outpatient Wound Center Responsibilities (as needed)Demonstrate knowledge of the patient population, equipment, and wound care products.Consistently document nursing care and education within established guidelines.Perform wound care procedures in accordance with center competencies.Non-Clinical Responsibilities (as needed)Locate emergency devices and understand procedures during emergency situations.Take on additional duties as assigned by the medical director or coordinator.Engage in unit-specific tasks between patient care visits.Attend and participate in at least 90% of staff meetings.Job RequirementsEducation: ASN required, BSN preferredExperience: 1-3 years preferredOther Skills: Must be a team player with strong communication skills and the ability to multitask.Holiday Coverage Required: YesClient Details City Bangor State ME
