About the Role\n

We're seeking an experienced Senior Tax Manager who can take ownership of complex tax engagements, lead tax planning initiatives, mentor team members, and serve as a trusted advisor to our clients.

\n

Key Responsibilities\n

\n

Tax Compliance & Technical Review

\n

\n
• Oversee and review complex individual, partnership, S corporation, and trust tax returns.
\n
• Perform risk-based reviews, identifying material tax issues and areas requiring additional analysis.
\n
• Research complex federal and multistate tax matters.
\n
• Ensure accurate, timely completion of engagements.
\n
• Provide technical guidance and support to tax staff.
\n

Tax Planning & Advisory

\n

\n
• Identify proactive tax planning opportunities for real estate investors and business owners.
\n
• Develop tax projections, planning models, and strategic recommendations.
\n
• Advise on real estate tax strategies, including cost segregation, depreciation, material participation, real estate professional status, and Section 1031 exchanges.
\n
• Evaluate entity structures, business transactions, and tax-efficient investment strategies.
\n
• Communicate complex tax concepts clearly and effectively to clients.
\n

Leadership & Team Development

\n

\n
• Mentor and develop tax professionals through coaching and technical training.
\n
• Identify recurring preparation and review errors and implement improvements.
\n
• Delegate effectively and promote accountability.
\n
• Collaborate with firm leadership to improve quality, efficiency, and technical capabilities.
\n

\n

Client Relationship Management

\n

\n
• Manage relationships with business owners and high-net-worth individuals.
\n
• Lead client tax planning meetings and communicate strategic recommendations.
\n
• Anticipate client needs and identify opportunities to provide additional value.
\n
• Serve as a primary technical resource for assigned client engagements.
\n

Qualifications\n

\n

Required

\n

\n
• Active CPA license.
\n
• 7+ years of public accounting tax experience.
\n
• 3+ years of tax management or equivalent supervisory experience.
\n
• Strong experience reviewing complex Forms 1040, 1065, and 1120-S.
\n
• Excellent knowledge of federal income taxation.
\n
• Strong technical research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
\n
• Experience managing client relationships and mentoring staff.
\n
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
\n

• Significant experience with real estate tax matters and closely held businesses.
\n
• Knowledge of cost segregation, passive activity rules, material participation, and real estate professional status.
\n
• Experience developing tax planning strategies and financial models.
\n
• Familiarity with Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS and related applications.
\n
• Experience with trusts, estates, and multistate taxation.
\n
