Mig Welder

Responsible for the safe and accurate operation of the MIG welders.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The following statements reflect the duties considered necessary to describe the essential functions of the job as identified and shall not be considered a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in this position. Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements Setup components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with power saws to match measurements) Setup fixtures and use them per work instructions Operate grinders to prepare parts that must be welded Align components using calipers, rulers, etc., and clamp pieces Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead) Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps Test and inspect weld surfaces and structure to discover flaws Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience as MIG Welder Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (MIG & TIG) Education High School diploma or GED, Vocational or Technical Training Professional Certification is a plus Experience 3-5 years related experience preferred Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA, etc.) Experience using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers, etc.) Skills & Abilities Ability to read blueprints Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use PPE May be exposed to irregular hours, strict deadlines, and stressful situations Pay Range $18 to $22 per hour- Based on experience For more information, contact our human resources representative View email address on click.appcast.io Subscribe to our job offers Be kept informed of all new job offers at Dawson, help yourself land your dream.
