The New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH) is dedicated to promoting the mental health and well‑being of individuals and communities across New York. Each year, OMH serves over 700,000 individuals through a comprehensive mental health system that includes psychiatric centers, and regulates and oversees over 4,500 programs operated by local governments and nonprofit agencies. These programs span inpatient and outpatient care, emergency services, community support, residential programs, and family care. OMH aims to support recovery across all age groups, enhance early identification of emotional disturbances, and develop community capacity for mental health services. Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Syracuse, NY, for a Dietitian 2. The Dietitian 2 will be responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy, developing individualized nutrition care plans, and offering nutritional counseling to individuals receiving care. The role includes overseeing meal planning and preparation, managing special dietary needs, and promoting healthy eating and weight management among patients. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and ensuring compliance with dietary regulations and policies will also be key responsibilities. Qualifications Strong knowledge and experience in Dietetics and Nutrition Proficiency in Nutritional Counseling and assisting clients with dietary education Experience in Medical Nutrition Therapy and addressing diverse dietary needs Expertise in Weight Management and the promotion of healthy eating behaviors Ability to assess and plan nutritional needs based on health conditions Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field; Registered Dietitian (RD) credential preferred Knowledge of policies and dietary regulations in healthcare facilities Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within interdisciplinary teams Experience in a healthcare or mental health environment is advantageous Commitment to enhancing the well‑being of individuals in mental health programs #J-18808-Ljbffr
