Preschool Assistant Teacher Compensation and Benefits
$18 - $22 hourly
25 to 29 hours/week

Summary of Position
This position supports the lead teacher of the 2 year old classroom in helping create a safe,
loving and nurturing environment for the two year old students to learn about themselves,
others and God. This includes prepping for activities, keeping a safe and clean classroom,
helping students with potty training, diapering and leading activities when asked by the lead
teacher. The assistant works closely with the lead teacher in helping to observe and
evaluated each student's individual needs, growth and support that maybe needed.

Essential Functions

1. Works closely with lead teacher to help plan implement daily routines and planned activities.
2. Provide all the diaper changes for students still in diapers and works hand in hand with the lead teacher as a child progresses through the potty training process.
3. Clean certain parts of classroom daily and materials as needed.
4. Prep and prepare materials for crafts and planned activities and seasonal themes.
5. Pray for students and their overall wellbeing and growth. Observe individual students and their individual needs and growth. Work closely with lead teacher before Winter and Spring conferences to help accurately assess the growth of each student in all domains including: physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and if applicable in specific academic areas such as math, reading and science.

• Participate in Christ Church staff life by attending all-staff meetings, church sponsored events, worship, training events and contributing to a culture of collaboration and encouragement.
• Engage in ongoing personal and professional development through training, reading, coaching or mentoring, in order to grow as a leader and servant of Christ.

• Maintain a posture of flexibility by assisting with projects or assignments outside the immediate scope of the role when needed.
• Contribute to a culture of grace, care and prayer by being available to support, encourage and pray with staff and volunteers and congregants as appropriate.
• Some of these I personally would check, however, with our current schedule many of these events we cannot attend as we are in our classroom, or weekend events maybe more of volunteer basis as we are currently capped at 32 hours.

Required Qualifications Education: Highschool diploma.

Physical Demands & Work Environment On your feet most of the day, bending, squatting and sitting on the floor frequently
throughout the day. Sitting on small two-year-old chairs, picking up and often holding
children.

• Teachability, adaptability and collaborative attitude to lead teacher's classroom teaching style and structure.
• Willingness to change diapers and appreciates the process and accomplishment of a two/three-year-old potty training.
• Patience and self-awareness when they need a break or a re-set /support in challenging classroom situations.
