As a Software Engineer Sr within PNC's Technology organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA, Phoenix, AZ, Dallas, TX, Cleveland, OH, Strongsville, OH or Birmingham, AL.

Preferred Core Mainframe Development Expertise:

• 7+ years of hands-on experience developing, enhancing, and supporting IBM z/OS mainframe applications in large-scale, regulated enterprise environments.

• Advanced proficiency in COBOL, JCL, and CICS, supporting both online transaction processing and complex batch workflows.

• Proven ability to understand, refactor, and modernize large, complex legacy codebases while maintaining system stability and performance Enterprise Mainframe Tooling & Platforms

• Deep experience with mainframe source control and deployment tooling used in enterprise financial institutions, including Endevor or successor platforms, and an understanding of enterprise promotion and audit controls.

• Strong working knowledge of enterprise batch scheduling tools (e.g., CA-7, Control-M) and end-to-end batch dependency management.

• Experience working within mainframe security frameworks, including ACF2 concepts, privileged access controls, and separation-of-duties requirements.

• Proposes & designs software solutions to address complex business needs.

• Writes code, tests and deploys software.

• Prepares technical and procedural documentation required for software.

• Maintains and debugs software.

Pay Transparency

Base Salary: $55,000.00 – $152,375.00

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data and on individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible with the payment based upon company, business and/or individual performance.
