Our golden rule: “The customer is the most important person in all our stores.” Job Title: Huck’s Market Store Manager Job Purpose Every store manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of the store within company policy and the local laws in such a manner as to ensure that the store is profitable. Store Managers also must maintain the highest level of customer service. Job Duties And Responsibilities Customer Service: Gives all customers prompt and courteous service adhering to all Best In Class standards; ensures that store appearance reflects company expectations and standards; ensures that the store is open and ready for business during all hours; handles all customer conflicts by using our method of MAKE IT RIGHT. Increase profits to ensure the financial security of our ESOP: utilizing all tools and departments to ensure all programs and policies are executed; managing all expenses and sales to budget (or better); neighborhood marketing through community involvement; participate in all Suggestive Selling contests by motivating Sales Associates. General Management: committed to our Vision/Mission Statement (T.H.A.N.K.S.); ongoing recruiting for talented candidates; effectively schedules associates to meet business demands per labor planner program; effectively communicates with store associates, Division Manager, and the corporate office; follows all federal, state and local laws and ordinances; provides a role model of conduct; controls variable expenses; ensures all associates adhere to uniform policy and provide prompt, courteous service; ensures checklists are performed daily; ensures schedules are posted two weeks in advance. Accounting: ensures all paperwork is done accurately and in a timely manner; maintains inventory and cash loss within company guidelines; conducts inventories, cash audits, cigarette counts, cost and supply audits as directed; ensures all store deposits are taken to the bank daily, including weekends; ensures sufficient change available for use throughout all operating hours; ensures all required documents are sent to the store analysts. Human Resources: treats all associates with dignity and respect; ensures breaks; advises division manager of any personnel situations; commits to training programs; ensures no work off the clock; provides a harassment-free environment; complies with the Responsible Retailing policy; works with associates on ongoing training and development; records hours worked. Security: ensures cash handling procedures are followed; confirms security video equipment is in working order; maintains a safe environment; protects company assets; follows vendor check-in procedures; ensures cash is stored securely (safe, register, or bank). Merchandising: posts promotional signs; uses current plan-o-grams; coordinates with the District Manager; ensures merchandise orders prevent stockouts and maintain inventory; works with DSD vendors to maximize in-stock levels; monitors inventory and communicates with the Division Manager; maintains cleanliness and sanitation in food service areas. Maintenance: floors clean and maintained; communicates maintenance issues to the Huck’s Solution Center; ensures equipment is in working order. Safety: proper use of ladders; follows lifting procedures; uses wet floor signs; reports accidents and injuries promptly; complies with EPA regulations (UST).
