Youth Mental Health Direct Care Group Home Multiple Shifts

Overview Reach to Win Youth Home & Family Services is a Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). The program provides daily assistance, mental healthcare support, and living accommodations to youth in need. We provide a home environment. The Facility Manager reports directly to the Program Specialist (Facility Administrator). Position We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our team. The essence of the Short-Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP) Mental Health Care Worker is to be accountable for meeting the needs of the teen and non-minor dependent girls and to provide adequate care and supervision of youth residents that are always in our care individually and in groups, in accordance with applicable law, licensing regulations, our clinical team and facility policies. Responsibilities The Mental Health Care Worker’s goals are to improve the quality of life and make a difference in the lives of the youth under direct care by providing direct supervision, support and behavior management in a safe, therapeutic, and nurturing environment residing in residential care. Qualifications Have obtained an Associate's Degree or Bachelor of Arts or Sciences degree Have obtained a valid Child Development Teaching Permit Have completed 12 semester units of Early Childhood Education, Adolescent Development, Foster and Kinship Care Education, or Psychology and have completed at least 100 hours of on-the-job experience working with children Have a valid certificate as an Alcohol Counselor, Drug Counselor or Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and have completed at least 100 hours of on-the-job experience working with youth/children (the 100 hours may be completed after starting employment; until completed, staff shall not be counted in the staff-to-child ratio and shall not be left unsupervised with children) Have a valid vocational training certificate, credential, or documentation demonstrating that the individual is a trade journey-person who instructs children in vocational skills and has at least 100 hours of experience working with children or adults as a mentor, athletic coach, teacher, vocational coach, tutor, counselor, caregiver within a residential setting, or other relevant experience as determined by the department Have previously been employed as a full-time staff or served as a volunteer at a group home, short-term residential therapeutic program, or substance abuse treatment program for at least one year Have relevant life experience in the child welfare, mental health or juvenile justice systems as a consumer, mentor, or caregiver, or life experience with children who have experienced high levels of trauma, or other relevant experience as determined by the department Benefits Dental insurance Health insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Training & development Opportunity for advancement #J-18808-Ljbffr REACH TO WIN YOUTH HOME & FAMILY
