CNC Machinist – 1st Shift

Pay based on experience - up to $35/hr!! Job Summary We are looking for a strong, hands-on CNC Machinist who knows what they can do and can back it up. This is an all-around machining position for someone who understands CNC equipment, can perform setups and touch-offs, troubleshoot machines, and help keep production moving. We need someone with real machining experience, solid mechanical aptitude, decent math skills, and the ability to work independently.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes
• Perform tool touch-offs and offsets
• Load and verify tooling
• Check machines to ensure they are running correctly
• Perform setups and make adjustments as needed
• Monitor production and keep jobs moving
• Troubleshoot basic machining and equipment issues
• Verify parts and tooling are running correctly
• Help with machine controls and understand the overall production flow
• Assist with programming as capabilities allow
• Work with a CAD-based programming system
• Support multiple machines and machining processes as needed

Equipment The shop includes a variety of CNC equipment:

• CNC Mills: Primarily 3-axis
• CNC Lathes: Standard 2-axis machines make up approximately 75% of the lathes
• Approximately 25% are more advanced machines with sub-spindles
• Six machines have automated M-code-driven operations that largely run on their own and require periodic monitoring/checking

Required Skills Must have genuine CNC machining experience. We're looking for someone who can confidently perform at least:

• CNC machine setups
• Tool loading
• Tool touch-offs
• Offsets
• Machine adjustments
• Production monitoring
• Basic troubleshooting
• Reading and understanding machining requirements
• Working with machine controls

Programming experience is a plus, but full programming capability is not required if the candidate is strong with setups, touch-offs, offsets, and machine operation. Math & Mechanical Aptitude You don't need to be a mathematician, but you do need to have decent basic math skills and be able to apply them to machining. We're looking for someone with:

• Basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills
• Ability to understand measurements and dimensions
• Mechanical aptitude
• Good attention to detail
• Some education or training that translates into practical knowledge
