About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Cath Lab Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a related nursing specialty preferred License: Current RN license or Compact state license Certifications: BLS Certification required; ACLS Certification required Must-Have: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred Description: The competent nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of applicable competencies: leader of self, leader of others, or leader of leaders. Consistent with the nursing scope and standards of practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using appropriate protocols, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources. Position Requirements: All newly hired experienced RNs must attend orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is necessary. One year of experience in a critical care setting is preferred but new graduates may be accepted. Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Work Type: Full Time
