Patent Prosecution Associate with Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering Background

Job Overview A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level Patent Prosecution Associate with a background in mechanical or aerospace engineering to join their team in New York City, NY. The ideal candidate will have one to three years of patent prosecution experience. Duties Conduct patent prosecution at the USPTO or in a law firm setting. Collaborate with a team of patent strategists and litigators. Advise clients on maximizing intellectual property portfolios. Requirements One to three years of patent prosecution experience. Minimum of two years of legal practice experience. Excellent academic credentials and strong writing skills. Sharp analytical ability. Education Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, or computer science. Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school. Certifications Admitted to and in good standing with the relevant bar. PTO registration preferred. Skills Strong preference for previous experience as a patent examiner.
