Equity Research Analyst

Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as part of a balanced investment management firm with over $1 billion in assets under management. Located in Horseheads, NY, a charming town known for its rich history and close-knit community, this role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment while contributing to our investment strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop expertise in sectors such as healthcare, technology, utilities, infrastructure, foreign, and value stocks.
• Research and present new equity ideas that align with the firm's investment philosophy.
• Participate in buy, sell, and hold discussions, including price points and recommendations.
• Conduct relative and intrinsic (DCF) analysis using Bloomberg.
• Engage with company representatives and industry experts.
• Provide insights on macroeconomic effects and sector trends impacting various financial instruments.
• Create content for blogs, quarterly newsletters, and other client communications.
• Participate in asset allocation decisions and assist with bond research, particularly in the U.S. municipal market.
• Support the portfolio management process tailored to each client.
• Maintain relationships with client relationship managers and client services.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Finance or Investment.
• 2-5 years of equity research experience.
• Experience in personal security trading, equity, and/or bond analysis.
• Ability to analyze business strategy, valuation, and financial statements.
• Experience interacting with investor relations for financial securities.
• Attention to detail, follow-up, and a sense of urgency.
• Professionalism and a commitment to high ethical standards.
• Proficiency with industry-focused information systems and applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with team members and other departments.

Preferred Qualifications

• CFA® Charter Member strongly preferred.
• MBA from a top business school and a path towards a professional designation (CFA®, CFP®) preferred.
• Experience with Bloomberg and other research systems is strongly preferred.

Compensation

Annualized Salary: $80,000 - $137,917 plus performance-based incentives.
