Job Summary and Qualifications

The Special Procedures Technician assisting physicians and maintains an efficient, safe and pleasant work environment. Assist the Director, Medical Director and Physicist in directing aspects of care provided by the medical imaging department including but limited to operating radiologic equipment to produce radiographs (x-rays) of body for diagnostic purposes, (excluding Fluoroscopy, portables and special procedures) as directed by Radiologist. 

What You Will Do In This Role:

1. Assists the physician in diagnostic procedures. 

2. Assists with transporting patients to and from their rooms when patient is an inpatient. 

3. Moves x-ray equipment into specified position and adjusts equipment controls to set exposure factors such as time and distance. 

4. Provides a safe environment for administering contrast material. 

5. Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff. 

What Qualifications You Will Need:

• Credentials: active ARRT (R) certified and active General Medical Rad Tech/TMB license required.
• Education: graduate of an accredited program for radiographers.

• Experience: Prefer two (2) year working experience in a hospital Imaging Department. Prefer one (1) year Intervention Radiology experience.
